“Prince George, B.C.- There was no shortage of red serge at the coast inn of the North this morning as members of the RCMP were decorated for their many years of service, peace keeping, and given commendations and certificates of appreciation for their special efforts.
Despite all the attention to RCMP protocol, the uniforms, the salutes, the parade, the flags and the anthems, it was a four legged member who stole the show.
Police dog, “Ram” was so excited about he and his handler Constable Cameron Long receiving a Commanding Officer’s Certificate of Appreciation, that when it was their turn to receive their certificate, “Ram” stood on his hind legs and put his front paws on the chest of Deputy Commissioner Gary Bass. While that kind of move could have been career limiting for others in the force, Ram got away with it, and was able to settle down enough for a picture where he gently raised his right paw.”
